Alan has been illustrating for over 32 years. His primary art medium is oil paint on masonite or illustration board. On occasion or request, he will produce digital illustrations. His clients include Marvel Comics, Wizards of the Coast (Magic: The Gathering), TSR (Dungeons & Dragons), Hasbro, Harper Collins, Tolkien Enterprises for J.R.R. Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings, Topps, Steve Jackson Games (GURPS), and many other fine books and game publishers.
His work can be found on fantasy art and science fiction art-related: book covers, games, calendars, advertisements, magazine covers, posters, and more. He generally works in the Publishing, Advertising, and Fantasy Game industries.
Alan is known for his cover art for Marvel Comics (Conan Cover Art, Character Covers) and his Collectible Card Game (CCG) Art for Magic: The Gathering, Vampire The Eternal Struggle, Legend of the Five Rings, Middle Earth, Deadlands, and Star of the Guardians for author Margaret Weis.
Alan illustrated for The Duelist magazine, Anne McCaffrey’s Acornia the unicorn Girl, and also worked for TSR, Inc. for Dragon Magazine.

Immediately after graduating RIT with a BFA degree, Alan brought his portfolio to Marvel Comics and was commissioned to illustrate a few covers for the epic Conan Magazines.
Alan moved into the gaming industry where he illustrated numerous MTG cards starting in the Homelands expansion.
Alan produced a few book covers including one for Marion Zimmer Bradley and art for Anne McCaffrey’s Acornia, The Unicorn Girl.
